About Turbos Direct
Turbos Direct was founded in 2003 by owner Scott Rakestraw, one of three individuals that started the Garrett Performance Program.
Scott has been in the performance turbocharging industry since 1979 when he started working for his father-in-law who was Garrett’s (then known as Allied Signal/AirResearch’s) first aftermarket distributor.
Scott has done testing with Garrett on over the road and big truck units, and has several Warranty Certifications from Garrett for classes he has completed.

Driving the Bothwell Motorsports-prepped Turbos Direct twin turbo Pro Mod ’69 Z28 Camaro, Rick Snavely captured:
- 2015 NHRA Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Pro Mod WIN with a 5.890 at 257.53 mph blast
- 2014 NMCA WEST Garrett Turbo Pro Modified CHAMPIONSHIP season title

Mike Lewis has been in the industry since 1998 and started with Turbos Direct in 2004. He’s built many turbo cars, including both street and race applications.
